Contribution of Adam smith to Economics:
Adam Smith a Philosopher and Economic theorist born in Scotland in 1723. He’s known primarily for his ground breaking 1776 book on Economics called An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations.
Smith introduced the Concept that free trade would benefit individuals and society as a whole and creating the concept of gross domestic product (GDP) and for his theory of compensating wage differentials. According to this theory, dangerous or undesirable jobs tend to pay higher wages to attract workers to these positions.

Contribution of Dr. Amartya Sen to Economics:
Amartya Sen, (born November 3, 1933, Santiniketan, India), Indian economist who was awarded the 1998 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his contributions to welfare economics and social choice theory and for his interest in the problems of society’s poorest members. Sen was best known for his work on the causes of famine, which led to the development of practical solutions for preventing or limiting the effects of real or perceived shortages of food.
Introduction:
The Department of Economics is one of the most active departments in the college. It was established with inception of the college in 2001. The department offers Economics Subject to the Arts faculty students of B. A. Part – I, II & III, (Semester – I, II, III, IV, V & VI). It follows curriculum as prescribed by R.T.M. Nagpur University Nagpur. There are one teacher.The syllabus of this subject is based on Classify the Concept of Micro Economics and Macro Economics, Describe Law of Demand-Supply and its applications in the different sectors, Identify Marginal Utility Approach, Laws of Return of scale, Cost Concept, Revenue Concept and Concept of Economic Welfare, Analysis the statistics, Classify the Markets, Theory of Pricing, Employment Theory and Quantity, Theory of Money, Analysis the Law of Consumption, Saving and Investment Analysis, Describe Business Cycle, Describe Banking System, Finance and Taxation, Describe International Trade, Analysis the Structure of Indian Economy, Summaries Agriculture and Industrial Sector, Poverty and Unemployment Problems, Economical Variants of Environment and Sustainability etc.
The teacher is an awareness of all such aspects related to seminars, viva and assignments. One striking example of our awareness may be cited here. Considering that students difficult to understand concepts of Economics and there is problems to comprehend words, this department are prepared PPTs for slow learners. Students are helped of these PPTs and to benefit for overall result. The department is quite significant considering that our college is based in rural area; our students come from that area to the college. They are totally inadequate about the syllabus. So my first duty is to remove these problems of students.
The department is proud that our students organize inauguration functions of ‘Economics Study Association’ as well as others of programs their self and conduct its quite successfully. The students of the department come through examination with flying colours quite some students get first class and above 70% at the graduation level. We are proud that during some years, our some students have got government job by competitive exam; a few of them are college lecturer and private department. Whenever possible the department has conducted practice examination modeller on the annual examination, so that the students perform better in the final examination.
